Mission Statement

Breadcrumb

As its mission, the Latino and Latin American Studies Research Center (LLSRC) seeks to study the complex constellation of cultures, racial groups, ethnicities, and experiences of Latinos and Latin Americans as part of a broader social and historical totality. The center embraces inter- and trans-disciplinary approaches that center the knowledges, histories, and struggles of historically marginalized communities as foundational to our intellectual program. It seeks to produce rigorous research that transcends the boundaries of Chicano Studies and Latin American Studies paradigms in order to make a practical intervention in the Inland Empire’s Latino communities, as well as those across the United States and in Latin America.
